Taipei Telecom

I wish I knew more about these boxes that are scattered around downtown Taipei. I can only assume from the writing on the outside that they are crammed with telecommunications equipment — aging nerve centers for the city’s communication infrastructure. The goofy paintings on them are a gentle reminder that you’re still in the city. Or possibly an opportunity for a brief, daydreamy escape from the wired urban jungle to somewhere beautiful, maybe even a place without phone service.
